wind turbinesThis report from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) highlights findings from two surveys it conducted to help determine how policymakers, investors and economic developers can best support the sustained growth of renewable energy.

In the first survey in 2011 the IEDC asked economic developers across the U.S. about the assets and barriers they viewed as most important to renewable energy development, as well as actions they were taking to foster growth in these fast-growing sectors. The following year the IEDC surveyed renewable energy firms in the wind energy, solar energy and biopower industries, asking questions about important local and state assets, policy tools, challenges and economic development programs.
