Miami-Dade County and IBM are undertaking a smarter cities initiative that includes a predictive analytics and smart metering project to help remotely monitor consumption and identify water leaks across the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. City leaders and residents will be interested in this video which details how the county expects to reduce water consumption by 20% and generate up to $1 million in savings per year which can be reallocated back into parks services for residents.
