How a Hybrid Switchgear-Communication Solution Satisfies Shopping Center’s No-Antenna Demands

Fri, 2016-01-29 15:53 -- SCC Staff

This case study from S&C Electric describes how it met the need from one of the largest shopping centers in Mexico to not use antennas as part of its communications system with the local utility which was to provide power for the multi-use facility. What S&C had to come up with was a hybrid communications solution. The result? All 10 Vista Underground Distribution Switchgear units at the shopping center are communicating perfectly with the utility’s SCADA system. The customer is pleased with S&C’s custom-engineering decision to use Ethernet and fiber-optic cables to connect the Vista switches, along with S&C’s continued product and engineering support.
