Readiness Cities - Louisville/Jefferson County
“A world-class city has to be positioned to understand and adapt to the world around us, especially in the fast-moving realm of technology. ... This partnership with the Smart Cities Council will help us take even more big leaps into the future.” — Mayor Greg Fischer
The Louisville Metro has been on the smart path for many years and is now ready to scale its smart city solutions with 115 miles of new fiber optic cable being deployed and multi-sector cross-cutting initiatives. Three of the areas it will seek to advance during its Readiness Workshop include:
- Telecom: Empowering all Louisville residents with the digital access and tools they need to thrive in the modern world
- Transportation: Reducing vehicular miles traveled (VMT) and becoming less car dependent
- Public Safety: Applying innovative Smart City solutions to reduce violent crime.
