Readiness Cities - Louisville/Jefferson County

“A world-class city has to be positioned to understand and adapt to the world around us, especially in the fast-moving realm of technology. ... This partnership with the Smart Cities Council will help us take even more big leaps into the future.” — Mayor Greg Fischer

The Louisville Metro has been on the smart path for many years and is now ready to scale its smart city solutions with 115 miles of new fiber optic cable being deployed and multi-sector cross-cutting initiatives. Three of the areas it will seek to advance during its Readiness Workshop include:
  • Telecom: Making broadband available and affordable to everyone
  • Transportation: Leveraging new technologies and data-driven decisions to move more people and goods while maximizing the value of physical infrastructure
  • Public Safety: Applying innovative Smart City solutions to reduce homicides and deter gun violence
