The City Protocol (CP) is a new open and global working framework for cities worldwide to assess and improve performance in environmental sustainability, economic competitiveness, quality of life and city services. It includes a growing number of formal institutional members - cities, businesses, NGOs and academic institutions - and many more individual expert participants in its open collaborative process.
The goal of CP is to define an interoperable city platform which will allow cities to communicate and operate across silos and across communities, spawning an ecosystem of solution development and innovation. In short, City Protocol aims to define the Internet of Cities.
The City Protocol Task Force is an open community of experts, who collaborate together in the research and development, necessary to develop, de facto standards for city operation, finance and governance.
