Each year, the Smart Cities Council donates coaching, workshops, products, services and more free benefits to five communities in North America. Each of the five winning cities receives a year’s worth of free mentoring, valuable products and services, a custom-designed, on-site Readiness Workshop, membership in an exclusive league of winning cities, and worldwide publicity. |Smart Cities Task Forces
Smart Cities Council task forces provide a neutral meeting ground for the public sector, the private sector, the research sector, the academic sector, and the non-profit sector. These stakeholders come together to determine the barriers to adoption and to work on initiatives to lower those hurdles. Many Task Forces contribute as trusted advisors to public sector leaders to raise awareness about the smart technologies that can improve livability, workability and sustainability. Current Task Forces include Smart Cities Policy, Urban Mobility, City Networks and Utilities Advancing Cities.
The Smart Cities Council can work hands-on with cities, helping them to use technology to become more livable, workable and sustainable. The Council’s Readiness Program is a comprehensive menu of services that includes training and events, workshops, and action planning that help cities transform.
