Qualcomm, AMC Health team to improve care for at-risk patients
Qualcomm Life, a subsidiary of Council Lead Partner Qualcomm, announced a collaboration with AMC Health, a privately held provider of real-time patient management solutions. Their goal is to accelerate the transformation of healthcare delivery by significantly enhancing connectivity and care coordination for at-risk patients, specifically those with heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, asthma or COPD, in a cost-effective manner. To do that, the companies will integrate Qualcomm Life's 2net™ Connectivity Platform with AMC Health's CareConsole™ care coordination platform. "The home is becoming the fastest growing healthcare setting in the United States and the combined capabilities of AMC Health and Qualcomm Life are powerful in managing patients with complex care needs beyond the walls of the hospital and into the home," said Rick Valencia, senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Life.

Ooredoo has visit from PM to talk smart cities
Council Lead Partner Ooredoo had high level visitors at its headquarters recently.  The Peninsula reports that Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani met with Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman, Board of Directors, Ooredoo Group and Chief Executive, Qatar Investment Authority. The topic was Ooredoo's plans for Qatar's first smart city, a project the Doha-based communications company is undertaking with Lusail Real Estate Development Co.

CH2M HILL tapped for biggest infrastructure project in Latin America
"CH2M HILL is honored to partner with Parsons and FOA Consultores on what is perhaps the largest greenfield airport of our generation to be built in Latin America," said CH2M HILL’s Transportation President Terry Ruhl. Black & Veatch joins Value of Water Coalition
Reflecting the critical need for broad-based investment in U.S. water infrastructure, Black & Veatch announced it has joined the Value of Water Coalition (VoW). The mission of the Coalition is to draw attention to the nation's aging and underfunded water infrastructure. Council Associate Partner Black & Veatch is a global leader in water, wastewater and storm water infrastructure design, engineering and construction.  "Limited budgets, aging infrastructure and the need for greater resiliency in the face of extreme weather events are impacting communities nationwide," said Cindy Wallis-Lage, president of Black & Veatch's water business.  "To address these threats to our water systems will require coordination at every level of government. The active engagement of people across the country is also crucial for success."

ABB teams with Samsung SDI to accelerate growth of microgrid market
The companies believe the combination of ABB’s global market presence, its leadership in grid technology and its global service footprint with Samsung SDI’s leading lithium-ion battery technology will enable accelerated growth of the microgrid market -- making microgrid solutions a viable alternative to promote and broaden access to electricity in emerging markets and remote areas while providing power reliability, resiliency and security to developed markets. Council Associate Partner ABB  is a leading power and automation technology company. It will provide technologies for electrification, control optimization, stabilization and expert consulting services in the microgrid alliance while Samsung SDI will provide the batteries and the battery management system.
