2021 Readiness Challenge Reopens - July 1, 2021
Applications DUE - September 3, 2021 

The 2021 Smart Cities Council Readiness Challenge is open for applications and just the process of applying will help you accelerate your smart cities projects. It only takes an hour to complete!

All qualified applicants get free access to the Smart Cities Project Activator for one year, which will help you align stakeholders, refine your plans and ultimately make your projects easier to fund or finance.

Winners will: 

  • work with the Council to accelerate chosen projects, assisted by other cities and experts;
  • participate in Collaborative Engagement and Scoping Workshop resulting Readiness Roadmap;
  • qualify their personnel with free Smart City Academy training that will improve work credentials and earn all personnel participating the globe’s primary smart cities credential; 
  • Finalists will present their chosen projects at Smart Cities Week @ ConnectX in Orlando, FL on October 4.

Do you qualify?
Our 2021Readiness Challenge is open to any North American local, state or regional authority that represents local resident interests. Includes special districts focused on improving local conditions including wellness. Includes innovation districts or transportation districts, academic campuses, military bases, ports, harbors and airports.

Cities are encouraged to expand their applicant group to include as many local stakeholders as they can, such as nonprofits, academia and commercial interests.
