Students Build App to Ensure Classmates Don't Go to Bed Hungry

Students at the Secondary School for Journalism in Brooklyn realized that over 78% of students at their school receive free lunch, but often have no way of getting dinner. Using STEAM, the students created an app in hopes of supplying students with meals after-school for free -- and they won a top award for it in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest.
